Questions
Where are the settings?
The bar is hidden on a fresh install. Hold an empty spot and tap settings in the strip. On a full page with no empty spot, hold a window, let go, and tap settings. With the bar shown, tap ≡ on it.
Can Hyprtile replace my lock screen?
Android does not allow that. Hyprtile draws a live wallpaper that shows behind Android's lock screen. Android still asks for your PIN or fingerprint.
I see two clocks on the lock screen.
The other one is Android's. Use the setup steps hide system cards and dynamic clock off.
Is Hyprtile made by the Hyprland team?
No. Hyprtile is an independent app and is not affiliated with Hyprland, Omarchy, kitty or cliamp. It is inspired by them.
Which Android version do I need?
Android 7 or newer.
Does it collect my data?
No. No account, no ads, no analytics. See the privacy policy.
Why does the real visualizer ask for the microphone?
Android uses that permission for reading the sound the phone plays. Only the loudness per band is read, to draw the bars. Nothing is kept or sent.
Do I have to edit the config file?
No. Every look option has a row in settings. The file is there for people who like it.
What is the difference between a tiled and a free page?
A tiled page fills the screen with its windows, like Hyprland. A free page is a grid of cells, like Android widgets, and empty cells stay empty. Switch under workspaces, tiling.
Troubleshooting
Swiping up does not open rofi.
Swipe from the lower half of the screen. A swipe that starts on a window that scrolls, like apps, scrolls that window instead. Start on the wallpaper or another window.
The weather window asks to allow, or shows nothing.
Allow location, or type a city under settings, home, weather place. "no place called x" means the city was not found; try another spelling.
The music window shows no spectrum.
Turn on real visualizer in settings, home, and allow the microphone. If it says "no audio from this player", that player keeps its sound private.
The notifications window is empty.
Allow notification access in the setup guide.
The pomodoro rings late.
Open settings, feel, and tap pomodoro on time to allow exact alarms.
I broke my hyprtile.conf.
Settings, help, reset to defaults. Your file is saved as hyprtile.conf.bak first, and bring back the saved copy can undo it.
The lock screen went back to a plain wallpaper.
Set it again: settings, lock screen, set as lock screen.
Motion looks choppy, or the battery drains fast.
Check frame rate in motion and battery. 60 is smooth, 30 saves battery, max uses your screen's top rate. Turn on frame stats to see the real rate. Still wrong? Report a bug with your phone model.
