When something goes wrong
What you see, why it happens, and what fixes it. More answers are in the questions.
A share will not connect
Fileglow says why: the server was not found, turned the connection down, or did not answer.
- Check the address, the port, and that sharing is on.
- Check the server is on the same network as the phone.
- Check the user name, password and the shared folder's name.
- An SFTP server whose key changed is refused on purpose. If you reinstalled it, remove the share and add it again.
It says a copy was cut short
Fileglow was closed while it copied, zipped or unzipped. The half made copy went to the trash; the originals were not touched.
- Copy or move again.
An unzip or a copy out of an archive stopped
The file unpacks to more than the free space. Fileglow stops before the phone fills, so a zip bomb cannot harm it.
- Free up space, or unzip to a drive with more room.
- A tiny zip that says it holds gigabytes is not worth opening.
OneDrive says Unverified
Microsoft has not finished checking Fileglow as a publisher yet. The sign in is still Microsoft's own page.
- Check the page is Microsoft's own sign in, then go on.
Search inside files misses some
The private index stops after the first 100,000 files.
- Search from the folder you need rather than the whole phone.
Android/data is empty
Android keeps it closed to file managers.
- With Pro, install Shizuku, start it, and allow Fileglow.
- Open the folder's More, App data with Shizuku. After a restart, start Shizuku again.
A mirror or Wi-Fi transfer stopped
Mirrors run on Wi-Fi while charging, about every six hours. Wi-Fi transfer stops after 15 idle minutes, five wrong PINs, or leaving Wi-Fi.
- Tap Mirror now, or start Wi-Fi transfer again for a fresh PIN.
A drive is still listed after removing it
Drives saved before come off the phone only when you disconnect them.
- Settings, Pro, Network shares and cloud drives, tap the drive, then Disconnect.
Pro is still locked
- Sign in to the Play Store with the Google account that bought Pro.
- Open Settings, Pro again.
The subscription will not start
Support And Live API runs through Google Play. With no account on the phone, an old Play Store, or a copy not from Google Play, it cannot start.
- Open the Play Store once and check you are signed in.
- Update Fileglow and the Play Store, then try the row again.
To cancel: tap the same row, or Play Store, your profile, Payments and subscriptions.
